General concept
Is playing at my house are private parties coupled with an Internet live video broadcast
Main and only goal is to promote indie music for those who can't get access to mass media, especially TV (or at least not for more than 5 minutes)
You may know the song “Daft Punk is playing at my house” by LCD soundsystem. We basically started this project from this song, trying to figure out a way to promote artists on a worldwide scale, without having to deal with high organization and distribution costs. This is how we decided to make it a completely open project, with no business involved (except helping purchase music from the artist). That's also why we rely on free tools such as Ustream.tv for broadcasts and on-demand content.

Influences / History
In the late 90's, Groovetech radio was born and already offered live video broadcasts using Real Player. In 2002, when Groovectech disappeared, with DJing.com, we thought about a concept entitled "Bedroom DJing" to promote reknown DJ's by making them perform in the same conditions as a bedroom DJ, but recording them on tape. At that time, it was an on-demand project with a lot of post-production and editing. YouTube and other popular video websites were not yet born and ADSL adoption was still low, so this was a really difficult job to get videos online and seen by a lot of people. Nowadays anyone can watch and even broadcast video to the world from home with a simple $300 netbook. La Blogotheque Takeaway shows (non-profit) also inspired us
